After running nearly 7 hours in the cold, rain, sleet, and snow, I decided I needed a packable light windbreaker in my gear arsenal. I saw there were several versions of the Fast Wing (not Fasting) hoodie on Amazon and so I went through endless reviews and tried to figure out which version and sizing would be right for me. First of all, this jacket has so many amazing features that are perfect for trail running. Underarm vents, a snap in the front so you can unzip the whole thing to vent but still keep it from flapping too much, amazing hood, and it packs down small enough to toss into a hydration backpack. When the Asics Fuji trail jacket didn't work for me because it was too tight under the arms, I was really concerned with sizing. I'm a US 4-6 but in technical pieces, I usually size up to a medium so I can layer. I tried this on with two tank tops and jeans and the fit was spot on. You can get a light layer underneath easily, the fit is technical, it is meant to be close to the body. The Aster purple is awesome and goes very well with my purple Circuit. I'll be taking this one with me to Ragnar and to a 24 hour trail race. Update: I wore it for 2 legs to Ragnar Richmond. The first I did use the venting feature and found that the jacket dried immediately after I took it off which was amazing because I was soaked when I passed off my bib. The 2nd leg was in the rain and dark and I fell and slid on my front and it came out with nary a hole or damage. This is a great jacket!
